about

"Picking up right where they left off on their debut EP, this new single shows D.C. garage trio The Beginner's Mynd in fine form. The stellar two-sider meshes Byrdsian guitar jangle with '60s UK-stlye psych-pop in the vein of early Pink Floyd." - 13 O'Clock Records

"I Found You Out" appears deeply rooted in the realms of folk-imbued garage-rock. The bright 12-string tones and organic feel also serves to accentuate some of the more melodic and lyrical pathways that, while not blindingly obvious, are nonetheless thoroughly effective and infectious... With the flipside "When You Go" we hear something altogether different, more authentically Fading Yellow-like in it's jaunty rhythmic patterns, oddly treated vocals, brief bursts of piano, and thick dollops of fuzz." - Shindig! Magazine

"I Found You Out" starts the ball rolling with their signature chiming guitars, offering a textbook example of their skills at merging vintage U.S folk-rock, with quirkier UK pop-psych trimmings. This would have fit in nicley among the eighties revivalists like Plasticland, with the added bonus of not suffering from the dreaded eighties production curse that weighed so many great records from that era down. And flipside "When You Go" might just be my favourite side yet to escape from Dan McNabb's fertile Mynd. Combining a jaunty tempo with a pensive chorus, and moody, minor key leanings, this one stretches out a little more, which is a great move, as there's plenty of mileage to be had from this particular melody." - The Active Listener

"The leaders of the DC pop-psych underground come alive on their debut single, which pairs the Rubblesque keyboards and jangly guitar of "I Found You Out" with the moodier "When You Go", which recalls Donovan at his most introspective." - Ugly Things Magazine

"I Found You Out" is a total throwback to the Paisley Underground and the jangley folk sound of the 90s combos such as the Lears. All the elements are here: 12 string guitar, combo organ under layer, and a west coast vibe." - Bananas Magazine
